17 April 2002: You know the drill--read the not-so-new interviews, then thank us later.21 February 2002: Holy cow, two updates in a week--what is the world coming to? We have more concert photos for your adoring eyes.
17 February 2002: Stacey sent over some beautiful photos from the recent shows in Edinburgh. We actually have tons of stuff (interviews, photos) waiting in the wings but haven't had time to get to them. Patience, my sweets.
18 January 2002: We know why you come back time and time again. Some new interviews are up, so go to them.
5 October 2001: Joy sent us a bunch of interviews from the Lexis-Nexus database. Dig in!
22 July 2001: We're working on posting more interviews, I promise. In the meantime, Ria was kind enough to send us a story from the Guardian. Read up!
19 July 2001: We've posted the lyrics to the songs on the new album. "Sing" indeed!
19 March 2001: We have no excuses for our inactivity, other than real-life activities, but we've posted a couple of interviews from last year. Enjoy!
1 October 2000: Victoria was generous enough to type up a couple of articles for site. I may have photos from Travis's appearance at the Now and Zen festival, but I have to wait for my friend to get her roll of film developed.
10 September 2000: More interviews for y'all.
3 August 2000: Some slightly out-of-date interviews have been added, but please enjoy.
28 July 2000: Power to the people! More conversions are up. Also, see the news page for a competition by Clickmusic.
24 July 2000: Photos from the Portland, San Francisco, and Sacramento shows are up.
19 June 2000: Two new interviews posted, another one coming soon-ish (after we buy the new Q).
16 June 2000: Just lots of tour dates added. Rejoice if you live in West Coast USA. Alternatively, hop onto a plane straight for the antipodes (Australia/New Zealand).
8 June 2000: We've posted some not-so-new photos from the solo show in Los Angeles.
5 June 2000: A plethora of new conversions threatens to overwhelm us all. Lyrics for "Coming Around" now available for rote learning. Memorise ASAP and it will stand you in good stead for the upcoming festival season. Oh, we finally posted the Rolling Stone interview.
12 May 2000: My buddy Mike was nice enough to send some photos from the band's appearance at the HMV in New York. Thanks Mike!
9 May 2000: We're both swamped with personal assignments and such right now, but we've added some new fan sites to the links page and posted some never-before-seen photos from the Bowery Ballroom gig. There's more to come, so be patient, my pretties.
24 April 2000: We were very enterprising for the past week or so and have posted a number of interviews. I think there's still a couple of articles in the U.S. Rolling Stone and Nylon, but otherwise, we're pretty much caught up with the major press pieces. (Please let us know if we've missed anything.)
Also, I think there's something weird going on with GeoCities and Netscape, so please be patient with the site. Thanks!
16 April 2000: I wasn't actually gone for very long, but pictures will follow. Tee hee. Also, we've posted a not-so-new review and a new-ish interview. The U.S. magazines are starting to open their gates, so I imagine new interviews (with the same old questions) will be trickling in over the next few weeks.
15 April 2000: Minimal updates as Uyen runs off to stalk Travis *yet again*. A few more conversion stories and a new link put up but hey! you don't have to go anywhere just yet.
9 March 2000: Dennis very kindly allowed us to post his photos from the NYC show. Please have a look!
6 March 2000: I don't know whether to blame the motherf*ckers at MTV or at AT&T/TCI Cable Services, but although the Travis interview aired on 120 Minutes tonight, my cable connection managed to black out for a good 10 minutes or so of the interview. &$#!@. If anyone recorded it and would like to either be really sweet or work out a trade (I have good stuff, I promise), please email me.
Oh, we also added some stuff to the promo and compilations sections of the discography.
1 March 2000: The Q interview has finally been posted. Ahhhh, the sweet sense of satisfaction...though, of course, there will be more interviews to follow.
27 February 2000: Our favorites from the recent batch of concert photos are now posted. Big, big thanks to the sweethearts who've contributed. More pictures may be coming...
25 February 2000: We've revamped the photos page and posted some new pictures from last month's San Francisco show. Pictures from Los Angeles, New York, and Boston will be coming shortly.
20 February 2000: First off, happy birthday to Neil! The concert photos still aren't up, but they're in the pipeline, we promise. In the meantime, make yourself happy with even more interviews! We're almost caught up, but the massive Q article still awaits. Volunteers are always welcome.
12 February 2000: One of us just got back from attending a handful of Travis's North American dates. Pictures to follow (once the jet lag clears). In the meantime, enjoy some newly added interviews and lyrics.
16 January 2000: We've added some more conversions. Please welcome even more Travis fans!
1 January 2000: Happy New Year! Well, the world didn't come to an end, and we actually managed to do some work on the page. Honest, a pile of magazines is sitting on my bedroom floor, but typing them up for the Web is another matter altogether. Stay tuned...
24 November 1999: Happy Thanksgiving to Americans, and happy day to everyone else. We've posted another article, and some more may be coming this weekend.
16 November 1999: Two more articles and some conversions are ready for viewing.
9 November 1999: We've been busy, but there are some new articles on the site, with more to come in the next few weeks.
5 September 1999: We've made some changes to the discography and posted a new interview.
2 September 1999: Some new reviews from Q magazine. (Thanks Nicole!)
7 August 1999: Some new stuff in the interviews section. Have a gander.
21 July 1999: Just posted a very old interview, before the days of triumphant U.K. tours. Check it out!
21 June 1999: We've finally posted the NME article from, oh, about a month ago. We'd like to blame the lag time between postal shipments, but we can't. Please forgive us. We're doing it all for you, y'know.
7 June 1999: More interviews! See, we really are working on the site!
4 June 1999: Well, the album's out, and we've posted a bunch of new items, including some interviews (with more to come) and reviews, lots of lyrics, and additions to the discography. We're here for you, folks, so check out the new goodies!
13 April 1999: We're still working here, we promise. In the meantime, we've added a link to Rant UK, which has posted an interview and a couple of live acoustic songs from the band.
25 March 1999: We've added our transcript of the interview from the Sony Gig Guide. Remember, we're not professional translators or anything so don't blame us if we didn't get everything right. (By the way, this isn't the new section we promised; that's still coming along.)
18 March 1999: We've been making lots of changes to the site, but we've been too busy to fill you in on the new stuff. I guess you might be interested in the discography pages, which now include the wonderful new single, as well as some past Shine appearances. We'll get the lyrics to the new songs up as soon as we can.
We'll also be unveiling a brand-new section in the next week or so. We think you'll be very pleased with it. And we could tell you more, but then we'd have to kill you.
8 March 1999: We've added the recent interviews from the Melody Maker and the NME. So curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy!
5 March 1999: The interview from the March 1999 issue of Select has been added; hopefully we'll post the recent NME and Melody Maker interviews this weekend.
25 January 1999: We've added the cover of the new promo single! Yay!
23 January 1999: Fran's sneak peek at the new album is now on the site.
15 December 1998: I've added a new item to the promo discography.
17 November 1998: added Hannah's conversion (straight from the mouth of a U16 Girl).
5 October 1998: got a conversion story from Stefan, who includes details and commentary on Travis's Reading appearance. And speaking of Reading, Karena has included photos from various Travis appearances on her Web site. Check out the links page for more info.
18 September 1998: we've added Dean's great story about meeting the band. Also, sorry about the unsubstantiated gossip about a new Travis single in September. You can blame us for the info, but we'd like to take the opportunity to pass the blame onto Siren Disc, which was taking pre-orders on the "single" for months. If wishful thinking is a sin, then let us be guilty!
7 September 1998: we've beefed up the promo discography and added a compilation discography. See for yourself.
1 September 1998: added some new pictures from the San Francisco show in support of Ben Folds Five (you know, the one where their Melody Maker cover story took place).
21 August 1998: To be totally specific and because Uyen's so anal retentive, we've posted:
- One new conversion (Tanja's tale)
- Three new interviews (Bugs, "All I Want to Do Is Feng Shui," and "The Local Heroes")
- Two new concert reviews (Bugs and "'I never want to go home'")
In addition, we've added pictures to:
- Three older stories (In the Bus Lane, "Brave Free Travis," and "Plastered in Paris")
- Three older reviews (NME, April 26, 1997 and June 21, 1997; Melody Maker, June 14, 1997)
Phew!
16 August 1998: Believe it or not, there've been lots of improvements to the site. You'll find some new reviews and interviews, and we've added pictures to a bunch of the old articles so that you can indulge in the eye candy known as TRAVIS. More stuff to come this week or next (depending on how hot it gets and how lazy I feel).
4 June 1998: Overhaul almost complete! The articles have now been given a professional, glossy surface. And I'm going on holiday tomorrow! Yes! We have no bananas today!
26 April 1998: New look! This page has undergone major changes (without those irritating 'Please come back later, we're improving our site to serve you better' blinking blighters). Words that won't make your eyes go all fuzzy anymore!
8 April 1998: Articles! Lyrics! Photos! Reviews! And a mailing list! ooh. If you're not clued in yet, go to the mailing list page. Join! Now!
23 February 1998: Yes! Nearly every section has been updated! Except for the Travis Conversion stories. Send yours in now! Well, two photos added. More to come. Soon. Real soon. Have fun.
21 February 1998: Okay, just added quite a bit in the Articles and Reviews section, cos I just cleared out my MMs and NMEs from last year. Sorely lacking in U16 Girls-period material, however. If you've got anything related to Travis that you wouldn't mind having put up on this page, do mail me! My resources are running quite close to exhausting itself...
31 January 1998: I've uploaded stuff in the course of January, but just never updated this page. The new additions are mostly articles though. And a few conversion stories. Send in yours now!
3 January 1998: 10th day of Christmas! Happy New Year to everyone. I've scanned in the remaining sleeves of the singles, and that's at the Travis discography. A photo section has finally found its existence here and, erm, that's it for now.
30 December 1997: 6th day of Christmas and counting... Put up two new Travis reviews. Finally felt brave enough to confront scanner head-on but dad was at computer fiddling around with silver wedding anniversary plans. pah.
29 December 1997: Tis the 5th day of Christmas! Hope you enjoyed yourselves. I've added more reviews, one more Travis article, and William's conversion story. I'm off to rent a James Stewart video. Have fun poking around. I'll add pics one day... honest! And probably a 'Quotable Quotes' section. hehe.
21 December 1997: Phew! Talk about delay! I'd just like to thank all the reall nice people who didn't write horrid little mails to me for putting this page on hold for so long. Last day on the temp job tomorrow and I'm sort of staying up to correct all the little errors here and there. I have some book reports in Mandarin (not very good at it!) to complete in 2 weeks and Christmas is coming up so maybe I'll have to wait till 1998 to do more about this page.
But I'd just like to wish you a merry christmas, if you happen to visit this page. I hope you get to enjoy it as much as I envisage enjoying mine. Mmm, we've made our first batch of mince pies and I am already addicted to it! I had 4 today! (naw, they're mini ones)
Just thanks again to all the nice people who gently pointed out errors in the page. If you have any questions on Travis, on the page, or just me, email me!
10 November 1997: Just started my part-time job for the holidays today... no, hardly anything to do with the webpage. No, actually, I finally got the Select July typed up, and put up. Go to Travis articles to find a link to it.
21 September 1997: Travis website goes online for the first time. Painstaking effort namely by one Addy, who slogged over the weekend to piece much of it together.
Lyrics to the b-sides: Most have them have been put up except for "Me Beside You" (which I do not have) and the b-sides to "U16 Girls". I've ordered that single from HMV already so when I do get it, I'll try to transcribe the lyrics. Warning: The lyrics may not be fully accurate because it's based on my hearing, but I've gone through it about two or three times. If you see any errors, feel free to mail me at thedarith@yahoo.com. The worst offenders, I must admit, are the b-sides to "Happy". Fran shows off his rasp very nicely but it's hell trying to make out what he's saying.
p.s. Travis are ace
