Hi, I'm Fran from Glasgow, and I'm high on life. I've had a glass of champagne as well.
Meeting George Lucas. I made myself look a complete arse, but it was still cool. We were supporting Dido in America, and he came with his daughters. I met him afterwards, and I'm a big Star Wars fan. I said, "I've always tried to let my life be guided by The Force," and he said, "That's nice" in the most blank way imaginable.
What was the last thing you won?
The Q Award for Best Band In The World Ever or something last year.
U2. I lost my U2 virginity this year. First time I ever saw them and it was incredible. I was also jammy enough to watch Bono recording some vocals in a studio. He is an amazing singer. A true living legend.
You lot think we're a bunch of pussies, don't you? Well, you're sort of right, but we do have Neil, our drummer. If there was a fight with Coldplay, everyone would die, and Neil would be left standing, waving someone's leg in the air. Neil is not to be fucked with. Our drummer could give Coldplay a doing on his own.
Our American tour ended two days ago. I'm moving house in two days' time. Work and domestic upheavals are not good for you, are they? So a nervous breakdown, probably. But apart from that, we've got European and British dates and a possible tour of South America. At some stage, we want to take six months off. I want to live in my house a bit. Put some pictures up, leave some pubes in the plughole, that sort of shit. That's where the ideas for the new album will come from. Not pubes but starting out in a new home with Nora. Albums work in threes, I think. We've finished the first trilogy, and I'm thinking about the next one.
