Lauren laughs: Hi, my name is Lauren Folwell. I was just at your web page, and I decided I would email you about how I got hooked on Travis. It's nothing funny or amazing. It's just one of those things that when you look back you realize how quickly it happened and it was just on a first impression.

Now I am a huge Travis AND Oasis fan. My boyfriend and I were, and still are, big Oasis fans. He got me hooked, and I buy and download their music whenever I can. I was quite determind to get tickets to thier show whenever it came around. So we got to do something AMAZING this past April 26th (2000)--see them live in PA! Well, the night before the concert I couldn't sleep since I was so excited, and I was listening to Y100 (PA's rock/alternative radio station). They were talking about the concert non stop, and luckily I caught it at the best time--they had Travis there! Now, at that point I had never even heard of the band, let alone any of thier music. But fortunately (for me) they played "Coming Around" right there, LIVE! I just sat up in my bed in sheer amazement of how awesome they sounded and how great the song was. As I listened on, thier accents enthralled me, leaving me even more ecstatic in my anticipating the next evening's concert! So the next day I left my softball game extra early just to be sure of time, and knowing I could NOT miss the opening act!

Once I was at the concert I just couldn't contain myself. My boyfriend was excited, but i was really showing it! When Travis came out, they sang more than enough to get me hooked right there. When they sang "Why does it always rain on me?" and Fran Healy was talking about the song, I couldn't believe how much I loved hearing him TALK -- not just sing! He mentioned how at one of thier performances it was a nice sunny day, but when they began playing "Why does it always rain on me"--then is started raining. I found that amusing. But anyway, after that I didn't immediately get the cd, but only because I was so busy. A few times I checked Wal-Marts because they were conveniently nearby--but they didn't have it. Finally I found thier album The Man Who at The Wall music store when I was on vacation. I was happy to find their new album, but I wanted thier first one too! Somehow I got lucky when I checked a Borders in Delaware because they only had ONE Travis cd, and it was Good Feeling. Nothing else, that was it! *sigh* At least I'm happy now. I can't wait for thier next album and I'm dying to see them live again!!
