hi great site... thought i'd email my story.
I heard of travis back in 1997 and found their songs catchy and liked them
but never really appreciated them. It was not until about a year later when
my friend Matthew and I were sitting in our metalwork class when he asked me
if i'd heard the new Travis single, "Writing to Reach You." I hadn't. He told
me to listen out for it and lent me good feeling. I heard the single, the
album and i was hooked.
So i persuaded my best mates mel and Jodie to come to T in the Park with me
as I really wanted to see the band live. We got there on the Saturday and
found the Melody Maker tent...travis were there!!! I was so excited I almost
collapsed. They were so approachable and Fran especially was really friendly
and warm. i was absolutely dumbstruck so i stuck out my hand not knowing what
to say other than hello and he grabbed it and kissed me on the cheek to my
utter disbelief. Jodes was standing there with her camera and said she wanted
to see that again. he asked me if i wanted to do it again and i nodded and he
kissed me again! i left with a big smile on my face. It was about 2 hours
later and i saw them live, it was so amazing it has to be one of the best
days of my life. What can i say I'm hooked. And if you question the validity
of my story... I have pictures and a signed poster to prove it.
