Emma enunciates: I'm writing to offload after my religious experience with Travis this Monday past in Auckland, New Zealand (July 24 2000). I hadn't heard that much of the band's material, but liked what I had heard enough to pay to go see them live. I also knew nothing of Fran Healy and what my friends and I can only describe as the "thing", a man like him has got. I think the best word is charisma because a better word hasn't yet been invented. The show was amazing, I was mesmerised, uplifted. There aren't words to describe it. Fran spoke to my heart, he did indeed steal it. The music rocked, the feeling was inspiring and I have been wandering in a daze for 3 days since then. Its pretty safe to say I'm a convert, Ive been hardpressed to remember a time when I felt so heady, maybe when I was 16 and kissed my first boyfriend..... Travis forever , they are amazing, its just the kind of sound I've been looking for.
