Carrie parle: Hello fellow Travis fans, I just thought I'd tell you folks about the time I met Travis in Paris (today's date 27/05/2000; I saw them in March this year). I went on a trip to see them play at Elyees Montmartre, where they played for 2 hours and it was absolutely fantastic. But before the gig, we were in the bar, and we saw Travis' tourbus parked outside! All the French people were ignoring it and had gone inside the venue already, so there was just me and a couple of friends drinking away. Suddenly we spied a familiar person sat upon the roof of the coach. Yes it was Dougie Payne himself! So we went out to talk to him. I shouted out to him that it was dangerous to coach-surf, and he just laughed. He was very friendly and smiley, down-to-earth, not at all the big star!
As if that wasn't excitement enough, after the gig, we were back in the bar again, and there was a handful of French fans on the street outside. We had given up hope of seeing the boys again, as someone said they'd already gone. But, suddenly who did we see but Andy, Neil, and Dougie on the street outside! So, out we went and Dougie, recognising my bright red hair, said jokingly, "Oh no, not you again!" I had my photograph taken with Dougie and Andy, and got their autographs too! All in all, it was a night I will never forget!
