Ant animates:

I always build up a list of albums I want to buy--but usually don't have the money. I have to admit (despite scowling looks from most of you) that Good Feeling was about tenth on that list when it came out (The Bends, etc. were high). Anyway, no good albums were released for a bit, which allowed it to climb my own personal charts. Due to some good fortune I came into some money (lottery 44quid & Birthday in same week!!!) the same week as "More Than Us" was released. Still possibly my fave Travis track. Bought the album and got hooked on the last three tracks. Travis were the reason I learnt to program my new CD player, so that I could play those three tracks non-stop.

Sometimes, if I was feeling particularly mad, I'd play all 12 in a row (but then I'd need to lie down from all the jumping up and down I did for the first 7 tracks or so).

I saw (and heard) the vid for WTRY in our union. I heard (I think it was Toby Aimes) mention Travis and then had to make sure I could see the screen. It was one of the most heart-filling songs I had ever heard. No one had reached me that much since Wonderwall (Oct. 95). It had special significance for me too, but I won't go into that. Needless to say, esp. when "Driftwood" came out that this time, The Man Who was No. 1 in my most wanted album list. I bought it the week it came out; it has almost never left my CD player since. Then DISASTER!!! My house was broken in to. They stole my CD player along with TMW (which was in it at the time). But--and get this--they searched through my CD cases and also took the case too. They left every other CD in its place. Just proves that some criminals have brains too. I had to forgive any alcohol for the next few days so that I could afford to buy a new copy. But it was worth it. Now TMW hardly ever leaves my sight. The Travis third album is already on my 22nd birthday list--fingers crossed it's released by then.
